Absences and Group Photo Options

INTRO

We understand how disappointing it can be when a student or teacher misses Picture Day and can't be part of the group photo. Fortunately, we have a solution: comping (digitally inserting the subject) into the group photo.

However, important factors must be considered, such as how and when group photos can be purchased in the school's shopping cart. If we insert the student or teacher digitally, it will delay the group photo’s availability and can't be included in the packages. Instead, the group photo can only be purchased separately after Makeup Day.

COMPING SUBJECTS INTO CLASS GROUP PHOTOS

  • Associated Fees: The fee is $100 per comped student/teacher, as this service is not provided for free.
  • Prompt Notification: Inform the Account Manager early to plan for the comping work.
  • Coordinator Role: The school contact must coordinate with the photographer on site to reserve space in group photos on Picture Day.

Additional Considerations for Comping:

  • Original vs Comped Group: The comped group photo will not be available in galleries until after makeup day. Until that time, the originally photographed group will be there and available for purchase.
  • Limited Opportunity: If the missing student/teacher is absent on Makeup Day, we cannot complete the comping process.
  • Timing: The school contact is responsible for bringing the missing student to the set on makeup day and identifying them to the photographer. 
  • Replacement Photos: If replacement photos are requested, the school/customer covers the cost of replacement prints for anyone who purchased a version of the group photo before comping.

RETAKING CLASS GROUP PHOTOS

We do not typically offer group photo retakes on Makeup Day unless absolutely necessary. Retaking group photos involves additional equipment, the availability of specific backgrounds, and the risk of absenteeism among students or staff.
